Well now you don’t have to order bulk delivery of readymix concrete and you don’t have the hard labour of manual mixing either – thanks to the volumetric delivery option available from Granitmix.

The volumetric truck, which is available throughout Glasgow, Edinburgh, Lanarkshire and the Borders, is effectively a ‘happy medium’ between bulk deliveries and manual mixing as it supplies the concrete you want, where you want it and in whatever quantities you need. It is arguably the most flexible concrete delivery method available.

If you’re not sure of the concept it’s actually quite straightforward – the volumetric truck will mix on-site to meet your actual requirements rather than a rough estimate. This means there is no mess, no waste and you are guaranteed a prompt and efficient service.

Currently, there are two volumetric trucks in the Granitmix fleet, both of which allow for cost effective on-site production of concrete compared to the conventional drum type transit mixer. All of the components – such as sand, stone, water and admixtures – are loaded into separate compartments and are mixed together through a choice of three control methods: remote control, T-Bar wonder-lead and the main batch plant control panel. There is also a wireless remote control for single operators to make adjustments to the belt, auger, mix design and discharge rate.
