I'm not sure how much concrete I need, can you help me?

Surveys show even professional builders can over- or underestimate the amount of concrete they need by up to 40 per cent. Often it’s only possible to make a rough guess. However, the Granitmix concrete calculator can help you make a more accurate estimate and you can phone the company with just an approximate idea of how much you'll need and it will be there fast, ready to mix the exact amount of concrete required to suit your project.

I only need a very small amount of concrete... will you deliver this amount?

Granitmix’s minimum delivery charge is 0.5 of a metre - although if you need to use less you can use less. So, it’s the ideal delivery service for small and medium sized jobs like driveways, garage bases, garden paths, footings and oversites.

How much concrete can you deliver?

The Granitmix system guarantees the maximum efficiency for the minimum trouble. Its unique purpose-built volumetric vehicles carry enough cement, aggregate and water to mix up to eight cubic metres in a single delivery. The truck mixers can supply either six or eight cubic metres in one delivery.

Isn’t it cheaper to mix the concrete myself?

Using a volumetric truck can be far more cost efficient than mixing it yourself. It saves you the expense and inconvenience of hiring equipment, estimating the amount of raw materials you need and allocating valuable labour to mix concrete. Remember, one cubic metre of concrete weighs over 2.2 tonnes or over 20 full barrow loads which involves a lot of hard work. If you’ve over- or underestimated the amount of materials required for the job you may also have a big problem.

How long have I got to get the concrete laid?

With the concrete mixers you will have five minutes per cubic metre ordered to despatch your concrete. With the volumetric truck you will have 60minutes for a full load and 30minutes for 4m3 or less. An additional charge for waiting time will be added accordingly.

What should I do when I am ready to order my concrete?

I’m not entirely sure how much concrete I need and I am worried about over ordering...

The volumetric batching system onboard the vehicle is completely computer controlled and can be stopped at any point. Therefore Granitmix will only produce the exact amount of concrete you need. There is no waste or mess and no part load charges, and best of all you only pay for what you use.

Can I get concrete on a Saturday?

Yes, concrete can be supplied up to noon on a Saturday at no additional cost. Please get in contact with a member of the Granitmix team, preferably giving at least two days advanced notice, and this can be arranged for you.

Will your vehicles be able to access my site?
